Carolyn M. (Windholz) Pfannenstiel

Carolyn M. (Windholz) Pfannenstiel, age 75, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas.  She was born June 26, 1945, in Hays, Kansas, to Otto and Blanche (Weber) Windholz.    

She had a love for fashion which led her to a career in the clothing industry as manager and buyer for many years, retiring in 2011.  Carolyn grew up in Victoria, Kansas and attended Victoria High School.  She lived in Hutchinson, and Austin before moving to Salina.  She also enjoyed bowling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Jacqueline O’Riley and husband, Darin; her son, Kevin Pfannenstiel and wife, Kathleen; her son-in-law, Matthew Howell; grandchildren, Brittany Lawrence and husband, Tyler; Brianna Augustine and husband, Tyler; Riley Pfannenstiel; and Ethan Pfannenstiel; great-grandchildren Taylee, Brydon, Kaden, Bryn, Karson, Emerie, and Ezr; her brothers ,Virgil Windholz and wife, Lou; Otto Windholz Jr. and wife, Jackie; her sister, Charlotte Blake and husband, Don; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Schmidtberger; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Pamela Howell; and her sister, Louise Schmidtberger.

A memorial Mass celebrating Carolyn’s life will be said at 11:00 A.M. Saturday,  November 6, 2021, at the Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas.  All are invited. 

Private family graveside services were held at St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions, in Carolyn Pfannenstiel name, made payable to: Salina Presbyterian Manor, 2601 East Crawford,  Salina, Kansas 67401.
