HAYS – After suffering their second Rocky Mountain Baseball League loss of the season the night before, the Hays Larks bounced back Saturday with a 7-4 win over the Gameday Angels.
The Larks jumped out early, scoring a run in the second inning on a Dylan LaRue double.
They added single run in the fifth, on a Kaleb Duncan RBI single. Two runs in the sixth on a LaRue double and one more on a seventh inning error for a 5-0 Hays lead.
Duncan hit a solo home run in the eighth inning, the eighth straight game the Larks have homered for a 7-0 lead through eight innings.
Gameday scored four in the top of the ninth inning as the Larks went on to claim the 7-4 victory.
Nick Gray allowed just one hit with seven strikeouts in five innings and earned the win.
Dylan LaRue doubled twice and drove in three runs. Kaleb Duncan homered and added three RBIs.
Hays improves to 9-2-1 and 6-2 in the RMBL.
The two teams will close out the series Sunday evening with the first pitch set for 6 p.m. at Larks Park.
