The 21st-ranked Fort Hays State baseball team wraps up is home schedule this weekend with a three-game series against Northwest Missouri State. The series begins Friday with the annual Pack the Park event, with first pitch set for 7 p.m. The Tigers and Bearcats will then face off in game two starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday before concluding the weekend with Senior Day beginning at noon on Sunday.
Radio coverage with voice of the Tigers Gerard Wellbrock and color commentary from Garrett Wellbrock will be available on KJLS 103.3 FM both Friday and Sunday.
With six games remaining in the regular season, Fort Hays State remains in a tie for first place in the MIAA standings at 30-11 overall and 24-6 in MIAA play. The Tigers reached 30 wins for the first time since 2010 with their midweek win over Emporia State while the team can tie the school record for MIAA conference wins with one more victory (25-19 in 2011).
The Tigers are one of 10 team listed as under consideration in the first release of the NCAA Division II Central Region Rankings, announced Wednesday. Three other MIAA teams are listed in Central Missouri, Central Oklahoma and Pittsburg State.
