Sherry Atchison, 82, died Tuesday March 5, 2024 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born November 29, 1941 in McPherson, Kansas the daughter of Wesley and Loneta D. (Morse) Evans.
Sherry grew up and attended schools in Wichita, Kansas and lived most of her adult life in Meridan, Kansas before moving to Garden City to be closer to family. She had worked for many years as a secretary in Topeka for a vocational rehabilitation agency. She enjoyed visiting with people and felt an overwhelming compassion for stray animals. Many a stray dog or cat was lucky enough to end up in her care. She cared deeply for all her grandchildren.
Survivors include her Children- Rhonda (Chris) Weiser, Kevin (Beth) Atchison & Erin Atchison; Grandchildren-Kristan Weiser, Jessie (Josh) Urteaga, Cassey Dale, Dustin Atchison & Gage Atchison; Great Grandchildren-Haleigh (Alex), Taylor, Ashton, Peyton, Trustin, Oaklin, Londyn, Destin, Fate, Sayvn, Mercee, Heavenly, Brayden, Evan, Jayda, Jordan, Deyjah, Christopher, & Chevy; Great Great Grandchild-Aysia & Brother- Steve (Becky) Evans. She was preceded in death by her Parents- Wesley & Lonetta Evans.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 pm Saturday March 16, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Bates officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home 412 N 7th Street, Garden City KS 67846
