Norma Jean Wagner

Norma Jean Wagner, 85, passed away October 18, 2020, at her home in Great Bend. She was born July 27, 1935, in Bison, Kansas, to Jacob & Rebecka (Brack) Hartman.

Norma was a waitress for many years and helped open up the Pizza Hut on Main street in Great Bend, waitressing there for 15 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Otis.

She met Harold Wagner, the love of her life, in December 1958 and married him on June 21, 1959. Norma and Harold looked forward to every October going to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the 8 day Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. She loved it. Norma and Harold were on a chase crew for 20 years and attended for 23 years. It was wonderful.

She was a proud mother of two girls, Deby (Wagner) Newsome, and Kim (Wagner) Roach, both of Great Bend; three grandchildren, Courtney James Wagner, Jayden Roach, and Jacob Roach; one sister in law, Arlene Maier of Colby; her beloved shih tzu, Abby; special friends, Paul and Karen Lambert, and Britt and Amy Guthrie; and her grandchildren in heart, Garett Guthrie, Gavin Guthrie, Dave Meyer, and Rachel Bennison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Rebecka Hartman; her husband, Harold Wagner; a brother, Marvin Hartman, and twin brother, Norman Hartman. 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2020, with family to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis, with Reverend Barbara Jones presiding. It is recommended that those in attendance please wear masks and social distance. Interment will follow in the Otis Lutheran Cemetery, Otis. Memorials are suggested to the Norma Jean Wagner Memorial Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
