PAWNEE COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), the Larned Police Department and the Pawnee County Sheriff's Office are investigating the death of a Larned man.
The Larned Police Department requested KBI assistance on Saturday, Sept. 26, at around 5:20 p.m. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded.
Just before 4:30 p.m., a male resident at 907 Aspen Dr., in Larned, Kansas called 911 to report that he believed his roommate was dead. When officers from the Larned Police Department arrived, they found a man in a bedroom who had suffered a gunshot wound. Deputies from the Pawnee County Sheriff's Office and EMS also arrived. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
He was later identified as Cobin A. K. Poston, 24, of Larned.
Interviews were conducted, evidence was collected, and an autopsy was completed. Investigators and the coroner believe Poston died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released.
