Nora Irene Meerian

Nora Irene Meerian, age 101, of Oakley, passed away on January 10, 2022, at the Logan County Senior Living Nursing Home, Oakley.  Nora was born on October 3, 1920, in rural Russell Springs, Logan County, to Oscar and Ruth (Hill) Huey.  Nora married William "Bill" Meerian on December 21, 1956, in Grinnell.  She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and quilting.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, two brothers:  Allen Huey and Jim Huey, and her sister, Sarah Sutton.

She is survived by three sons:  Raymond Meerian of Wichita, Francis (Cindy) of Andover, and Chuck Meerian of Peck, and her daughter, Kathy (Gary) Sutphin of Denver.

Visitation will be Monday, January 17, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home. Vigil Service & Rosary will be in the evening (time to be determined.) Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oakley, with Fr. Luke Thielen officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
