A winter storm watch is in effect for much of western Kansas as another round of wintry weather is expected to arrive late Friday.
Ellis County is to the east of the watch area.
The National Weather Service in Dodge City is expecting rain to turn into snow late Friday, with the potential for several inches of snow across western Kansas.
In Hays, there is a 40 percent chance of snow Friday night, increasing to 70 percent Saturday. The chance of snow tapers Saturday night before skies clear Sunday. There is another slight chance of snow Sunday night into Monday.
The K-State Ag Research Center reported 0.06 inches of moisture from rain and snow Wednesday.
