A spring rain Saturday afternoon brought 0.58 of an inch of much-needed moisture to Hays.
At the Eagle Media Center, 2300 Hall, 0.40 of an inch of rain was measured.
Added to the 0.17 rain earlier in the month, Hays has officially received slightly more than three-quarters of an inch of rain for the month of April.
According to the K-State Agricultural Research Center, that's well below the average cumulative monthly moisture for April of 2.11 inches.
The average year accumulation is 4.57 inches by the end of April. Hays is sitting at 3.77 inches as of Monday morning, April 29.
