
Theodore Robert Ford, 78, of Leoti, died Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Wichita County Health Center, in Leoti. He was born March 18, 1943, in Troy, NY, to Theodore Roosevelt and Bernadette (Tudor) Ford.
Theodore
proudly served in the United States Navy. While stationed on an aircraft
carrier, Theodore fought in the Bay of Pigs and received 4 medals of
honor for his service. After his time in the Navy, he became a computer
technician and worked for General Electric and Honeywell. He owned his
own computer company, SASEC, which he ran until he retired. Theodore was
also a pilot and was instrument rated. These skills were used in the 20
years he volunteered as a Flight for Life pilot. He also flew for
traffic news.
After spending most of his working life in Phoenix, AZ, Theodore retired
to Leoti, KS. He was a member of the International Comanche Society,
and board member for the Leoti V.F.W. and Leoti airport.
Theodore was preceded in death by his parents and son Steven Michael Ford.
He is survived by his children, Bobbie Blair, of Leoti, Tom Ford, of
Leoti; granddaughter Brandi (Matt) Housman, of North Platte, NE; sister,
Nancy Feldman, of Phoenix, AZ.
