The Ellis County Health Department on Wednesday announced 17 new cases of COVID-19 in the county had been identified since Monday.
It was the lowest increase in a county's update since mid-August. The county updates case totals Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
There are now 229 active cases of coronavirus in the county, including three active hospitalizations, and 429 recovered cases.
The seven-day average of positive test results again fell to 16.5 percent.
Overall just more than 13 percent of the 4,987 COVID-19 tests have returned positive for the virus.
Since reporting began, 659 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Ellis County, including one death.
