The races for the fall elections are set after Monday’s filing deadline, and there are only a few contested races.
According to the Ellis County Election office, the only major contested local race will feature Republican incumbent County Clerk Bobbi Dreiling against Democrat challenger Laura Allen.
They will face off in the November General Election.
Locally, the only other contested races are for various Precinct Committee positions and one township treasurer position.
There are three candidates in the race for the First District of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Republican incumbent Tracey Mann will face Republican challenger Eric Bloom. The winner will take on Democrat Paul Buskirk in the November General Election.
In the statewide races, Representative Ken Rahjes, R-Agra, will face Democratic challenger Ellace Henderson, Phillipsburg, in November in the 110th District race.
In the race for the 111th District in the Kansas House, Republican incumbent Barb Wasinger will face Democrat challenger Joseph Burt Lantz IV in November.
There is also a contested race for the District Magistrate position No. 3 in the 23rd Judicial District.
Democratic incumbent Richard Flax will take on Republican challenger Travis Phillips in the General Election in November.
