The first moisture of 2026 for Hays brought rain overnight into Thursday morning.&nbsp;

As of 8 a.m., 0.38 inches of rain had been measured at the K-State&nbsp; Agricultural Research Center south of town.&nbsp;

At the Eagle Media Center, 2300 Hall, 0.51 inches was measured as of 8:30 a.m. with light rain continuing.

The cumulative moisture average for January in Hays is 0.50.

The National Weather Service <a href="https://hayspost.com/posts/55051a5e-58fd-43e9-8073-ff35efae26c0">weather forecast</a> calls for a 100% change of rain, then tapering off tonight.

A 40% chance of snow showers is in the forecast for Friday.&nbsp;
