In the heart of Ellis County, community leaders, businesses, and residents are gearing up for The Chamber in Hays 2024 Awards Banquet, set for January 30, 2024.
In preparation for the event, The Chamber calls on the community to submit nominations for a range of awards, honoring people, businesses and organizations that have made remarkable contributions to Hays and Ellis County.
As the deadline for nominations approaches on October 31, The Chamber's President and CEO, Sarah Wasinger, underscores the significance of this annual celebration.
"The awards banquet is a time when we come together to recognize the remarkable individuals and organizations that help make our community the vibrant place it is today. It's a moment to celebrate their achievements and inspire others to do the same," Wasinger said.
This year, The Chamber will bestow a series of individual awards, each spotlighting a unique facet of community excellence.
From small businesses to non-profit organizations and from entrepreneurs to seasoned community servants, these awards pay tribute to those who have made a lasting impact on the community.
This year’s awards include:
City of Hays Small Business Achievement Award
Honoring a long-standing small business in Ellis County that has significantly contributed to the overall success of the community.
eyeSMILE Vision + Dental Helping Hands Award
Celebrating a non-profit organization or employee who has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to caring, generosity of spirit, openness, and inclusion.
Golden Belt Bank Hall of Fame Award
Recognizing a lifetime commitment to community service and civic involvement, this award is a testament to an individual's dedication.
Grow Hays Robert E. Schmidt Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Conferred upon an entrepreneur who has demonstrated the ability to create and grow their business(es) over the past year.
Nex-Tech Citizen of the Year Award
Reserved for someone whose recent efforts have added value to the community and who has been instrumental in elevating the quality of life for Ellis County residents.
Nex-Tech Wireless Businesswoman of the Year Award
Highlighting a remarkable woman who has exhibited proven excellence in business or profession and exemplary leadership.
Vyve Broadband Rising Star Award
Awarded to an individual within the ages of 21-40 who possesses and exhibits excellence in leadership qualities while having strong community involvement and chamber engagement.
Werth Wealth Management Member Investor of the Year Award
Acknowledging a member investor who has shown a proven financial investment in The Chamber within the past year.
With such a wide array of awards, the 2024 awards banquet promises to showcase the diversity of talent and dedication that thrives within Hays and Ellis County.
Wasinger encourages all Chamber members and their employees to consider nominating deserving individuals and businesses.
"Our community is filled with exceptional leaders, businesses, and organizations. Nominating someone for an award is a way to show appreciation and highlight their remarkable work," Wasinger said.
To submit a nomination, individuals can use the official nomination form available on The Chamber website .
The completed forms must be received no later than October 31, 2023, either via email at [email protected] or by mail at 2700 Vine St.
