Mildred C. Dinges age 94, of Hays, Kansas passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society of Hays.

She was born February 25, 1932, in Hays, Kansas to Alex P. and Germain (Pfannenstiel) Pfeifer.  She married Laverne F. “Vern” Dinges on April 9, 1951, at Hays, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on June 3, 2004.

Mildred was a nurse’s aide at St. Anthony Hospital for a number of years, a homemaker, and a waitress.  She grew up in Hyacinth and attended the Silver Dale country school, then moved to Schoenchen, and was a 1950 graduate of Schoenchen High School.  She and her husband were members of the New Life Center Church. They lived in Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma.  Mildred moved back to Hays in 2016.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, playing cards.  Her church and family were very important to her.

Mildred is survived by her children, Charles L. Dinges and wife, Vicky, Fairplay, CO; Karen T. Watts, Hays, KS; Janet M. Casper and husbands, Gary, Hays, KS; Diane M. Henderson and husband, Verland, Oklahoma City, OK; Rod A. Dinges, Colbert, OK; Randy J. Dinges and wife, Tammi, Thorton, CO; Joseph A, Dinges and wife, Donna. Torrington, WY; Lisa Bomba and husband, John, Hays, KS; her grandchildren, Christopher Dinges (Gretchen); Michael Schmidtberger (Marcie); Shane Casper (Toysha); Amanda Henderson (Marcus Clift); Shalom Hernerson; Jason Dinges (Kathy); Ben Dinges (Calista); Alex Dinges; James Bomba; Rachel Bomba; Hannah Bomba; her great grandchildren, Ray; Kiley; Cole; Allan; Damion; Lennon; Markies; Micah; Macari; Daisha; Julien; Destiny; Gianni; Olivia; her eight great great grandchildren; her brother, Leonard Pfeifer and wife, Janet, Pottsboro, TX; and her sister, Norma Ruder, Liberal, KS.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Germaine Pfeifer; her stepmother, Josephine (Befort) Pfeifer; her brothers, Edward Pfeifer; Jerome Pfeifer; her infant sister, Maryann Pfeifer; her daughter, Victoria Riley and husband, Mike; her son-in-law, Jack Watts.

 A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the New Life Center-Assembly of God Church, 1701 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas with Pastor Brad Good, Officiating.  A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorial made payable to: New Life Center-Assembly of God Church in care of  Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
