Doyle Leon Post passed away on October 2, 2020 at the Redbud Village in Plainville, KS, at the age of 94. He was born on July 3, 1926 in Woodston, KS to James Owen and Malena Afi (Gregory) Post. Doyle married Lauretta Weldon on June 30, 1946 in Natoma, KS. They were blessed with three children: Cecelia, Linda, and Gary. Lauretta passed away in 1967 and on August 12, 1977, Doyle married Ruth Adeline Swindler in Russell, KS to which 7 step-children were added to his family. Doyle and Ruth were together until she passed away in 2008.

Doyle grew up in Woodston and graduated from Woodston High School with the Class of 1944. He started off farming but then moved to Plainville and worked at a filling station where he taught himself how to work on cars. He then owned and operated Post Repair and Service from 1971 to 1996. His career ended with 15 years at Farm Implement where he continued small engine repair until he was 88 years old. Doyle was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge.

A hardworking man, Doyle could always be found working on something. While never letting anything stand in his way, he strived for perfection in all that he did, and knew how to have fun and enjoy life along the way. He will be greatly missed, but his memory will serve as an inspiration to those who knew him… always do what you love, and always love what you do.

Doyle is survived by his daughters, Cecelia Anissy of Olathe, KS and Linda Gilbert of Plainville; son, Gary L. Post of Wichita; brothers, Edson Post and wife Madonna of Wichita and Charles Post and wife Patti of Concordia, KS; step-children, Tom Hodges, Terry Hodges, Dean Poe, Cheryl Baldwin, Sandy Odle, Tammy Robertson, and Angel Fasulo; two grandchildren, Tirazheh Anissy and Tanya Dunn; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Anissy, and Kian & Kylar Lamer.

Preceding Doyle in death are his parents, James and Malena Post; wives, Lauretta and Ruth; brothers, James, Emery, and Delmar Post, and an infant brother; sister, Vola Collins; grandson, Darren Gilbert; and sons-in-law, Jack Gilbert and Nasser Anissy.

A graveside service and interment will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at the Plainville Cemetery in Plainville, KS. Visitation will be Monday, 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Plainville.
