Maynard E. Weber

Maynard E. Weber, 93, Hays, died Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Brookdale Hays.

He was born August 22, 1928, in El Dorado, the son of Charles William and Bertha Christina (Graves) Weber.  He was a graduate of El Dorado High School and received an Associate Degree from Butler County Community College.  On February 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mary Alice Doerflinger in El Dorado, and they were married 61 years before she died on March 17, 2009.  While living in Ellinwood, Maynard was the Superintendent of Production for Thunderbird Drilling.  After moving to Hays in 1961, he worked for Davis, Schneider, and Dreiling Oil Companies.  He was a member of Hays Christian Church, El Dorado Christian Church, the Elks, and the Petroleum Club of Great Bend.  He enjoyed woodworking, vegetable gardening, and was a terrific cook.  He had a lifelong passion for flying and loved spending time with his children.

Survivors include his son: Charles Weber and wife Jolanta of Lodz, Poland, daughter: Carolyn Fuller of Hays, seven grandchildren: Erin Weber, Jennifer Rinard, Sarah Woods, Russell Weber, Fallon Weber, Natalie Fuller-Rathbun, and Christie Fuller, and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Alice, two sons: Raymond E. Weber and Marc Weber, daughter: Diana Kay Weber, and one sister.

A Celebration of Maynard’s life will be at a later date.
