The Kansas Softball Coaches have released their 2023 All-State teams and several area players are listed in Class 2-1A.
The Ellis Railroaders had three players named to the team. Junior infielder Kaydawn Haag was named first team. Senior Myah McCoy was named second team infielder and senior Hannah Schiel was named second team catcher.
TMP-Marian sophomore Brooke Koeningsman was named first team infielder and senior Jaci VonLintel was named to the second team.
Haag led the Railers with a .556 batting average in 22 games with a team-best eight home runs. Haag tied for second on the squad with McCoy wtih 35 hits. The two also tied for second with 28 RBIs. Haag led Ellis with 54 runs scored and stole 26 bases.
Schiel was second on the Railers team with a .578 batting average. She led the team with 39 hits and was second with 12 doubles and seven home runs.
McCoy was third on the team with a .449 average. She tied for second with 35 hits and lead the Railers with 16 doubles.
Koeningsman led the Monarchs with a .532 average. She had a team-high 41 hits in 23 games and tied for the team lead with 11 doubles. She also hit a team-best six home runs and led the squad with 42 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
VonLintel hit .438 in 23 games for the Monarchs this spring. She was second on the team with 35 hits and tied for the team lead with 11 doubles and had a team-best four triples and led the team with 15 stolen bases.
