Dane G. Hansen provides grant to Smoky Hills PBS

The Dane G. Hansen Foundation has awarded Smoky Hills PBS with a grant for $100,000 to support the station’s educational mission, children’s programming, local productions of Smoky Hills PBS, as well as station operations.

“The Dane G. Hansen Foundation’s generous support of Smoky Hills PBS provides funds that are vital to the operation of the station,” said Kelli King, director of finance and administration for Smoky Hills PBS. 

“These funds provide free educational events and programs to the youth of central and western Kansas and allow Smoky Hills PBS to continue providing local productions like Doctors on CallThe Kansas Legislature, and Real Ag.  We greatly appreciate the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the work that it does for Northwest Kansas.”

The purpose of the grant is to support:

·      Children’s programming on Smoky Hills PBS.
·      Books distributed to head start programs within the Smoky Hills PBS viewing area.
·       Local productions on Smoky Hills PBS
·      Station operations, such as transmitter updates and engineering costs.

The Dane G.
