Garden City- Jessica Danielle Lemons, 43, died on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi St Francis in Wichita. She was born on August 3, 1980 at Lansing, Michigan the daughter of Dan Wayne & Rachelle Lynn (Gray) Roether. She married Brandon Wayne Lemons on June 3, 2000 in Waukegan, Illinois.

Jessica moved with her family to Garden City when she was 2 years old and graduated from Garden City High School with the Class of 1998. She enlisted in the United States Army and in 2000 moved to the United States Navy where she retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 2023 after 23 years in active duty and reserves. She especially enjoyed serving on the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba. She received the 2013 Naval Intelligence Professional, Navy Reserve Intelligence Analyst Of The Year Award. In Garden City She worked at the Finney County Attorney Office, Russell Childhood Development Office, Garden City Post Office and currently was the Tech Secretary for USD # 457.

She enjoyed puzzles, reading especially Nora Roberts novels and crime television shows such as Criminal Minds, NCIS and The Office. She collected sea turtles and enjoyed her coffee, running and taking her dog- Peanuts on rides.

She is survived by her 3 Children- Alexander Dakota Lemons of Wichita, Alexis Renee Lemons of Hays and Alyssa Brooklyn Lemons of Garden City, Parents- Dan Wayne & Rachelle Lynn Roether of Garden City and 2 Sisters- Jennifer Marie Orozco and Jamie Lynn George both of Garden City.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday April 9, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev Jim Akins officiating. Military honors will follow by the United States Navy Honor Guard and Southwest Kansas Area Veterans Honor Guard. The service will be facebook live on the Garnand Funeral Home facebook page. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday and 9:00 AM to Service time Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Breast Cancer Awareness in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
