Woman hospitalized after violent I-70 SUV accident

SHERMAN COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Sherman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by Travis L. Ruby, 35, Livermore, Colorado, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just east of the Edson exit

The driver was distracted by something inside the vehicle and hit the rumble strips on the south side of the highway. The driver overcorrected, the SUV entered the median then crossed Interstate 70 westbound lanes ramping off the westbound exit 27 off ramp.

The SUV then rolled and came to rest in a field to the north of the interstate.

EMS transported a passenger Lindsey J. Foth, 34, Burlington, Colorado, to the hospital in Goodland. Ruby was not injured. Both were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
