Wanda Sue Cook, age 61, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on the morning of February 18, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born August 18, 1961, to Archie Otis Farr Jr. and Mary Pinkard Farr in Lake City, Florida. On December 19, 1980, she married Dallas “Buddy” David Cook Jr.
Wanda was employed by Winn Dixie Supermarkets for the past twenty-three years. She was of the Methodist faith. Wanda loved spending time in her yard, watching her many plants and flowers grow. She enjoyed walks with her sisters. She was known for her artistic abilities and her love for floral arrangements. She always looked forward to family cookouts, holidays, and gatherings.
She is survived by her children Laura Cook, Lake City, Florida; Archie Cook and wife, DeAnna of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Dallas Cook, III and wife, Angel of Lake City, Florida, her mom, Mary Farr of Lake City, Florida; and two sisters, Lisa Rowe (Tony) of Lake City, Florida; and Donna Lubbers (Don) of Hays, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, Tyler and Haley Cook of Lake City, Florida; and Kaelyn and Landyn Cook of Knoxville, TN. She is, also survived by her nephew, Derek Davis (Chelsea); and three nieces Brittany Davis (Chris), Allison Lubbers, and Autumn Hohmann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas “Buddy” Cook Jr., and dad Archie Farr, Jr.
A Viewing will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Lake City, Florida, and services will follow immediately after at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made for the care of Laura Cook at any of the First Federal Saving Bank Locations.
