Yvonne Edith (Hughes) Azeltine

Yvonne Edith (Hughes) Azeltine, 91, of Milan passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Ripley Crossing- Milan, Indiana. Yvonne was born on Friday, September 16, 1932, in London, England; daughter of Harold and Eva (DeOrnavol) Hughes. Yvonne married the love of her life, Robert M. Azeltine Sr., on December 20, 1952, and he preceded her in death on December 16, 1997. She was a very proud military spouse and had loving family members who were in support of the Army, Air Force and Navy.

Yvonne worked for over 20 years as a surgical technician at Smith County Memorial Hospital in Smith Center, Kansas. She later worked at Kruger Maddux Greenhouse in Sunman, Indiana. Yvonne had many friends and loved visiting and going places with them. Yvonne enjoyed dancing, knitting, crocheting, playing piano, gardening, playing board games, coloring, playing euchre, and refurbishing furniture. Most of all Yvonne cherished her loving family.

Yvonne will be missed by her sons Robert (Yvonne) Azeltine Jr. of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; LeRoy (Mary Lou) Azeltine of Overland Park, Kansas; James (Debbie) Azeltine of Leawood, Kansas; daughter Charlene (Patrick) Holland of Moores Hill, Indiana; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Eva Hughes; husband Robert M. Azeltine Sr.; sons Alan Azeltine, Frederick Azeltine, and Terry Azeltine; daughter Yvette Pryse; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters and her grandson Jasen Azeltine.

Yvonne will be laid to rest as her ashes are interred with her loving husband, Robert M. Azeltine at Gaylord cemetery on Saturday, October 12th at 1:00pm.

Memorials may be given in honor of Yvonne and Robert to Special Operations Wounded Warriors.
