LARNED – The TMP-Marian girls’ cross country team won the junior/senior division and the boys finished second in the freshman/sophomore division at Thursday’s Abby Trapp-Prescott Invitational hosted by Larned High School.

The Monarchs were the only school at the meet to field a full team for the junior/senior race. They were led by junior Sophia Allen who placed second (22:20.4), 16 seconds behind Madison Butler of Macksville who won the race. Makenna Kohl of Ellis placed fifth (23:34.1) and Kendall Kaydence of La Crosse finished eighth (24:26.7).
In the freshman/sophomore race, Macy Eberle of Ellis placed third (23:59.8). TMP-Marian had three in the top-ten led by Ella Bain who was fourth (24:40.1), Gracyn Schippers sixth (25:01.7) and Allison Weber seventh (25:02.6).
Mario Valencia (20:24.7) and Caden Becker (20:24.8) led the Monarchs in the freshman/sophomore race placing eighth and ninth respectively. Triston Nelson of La Crosse placed seventh (20:22.2).
La Crosse placed two in the top-ten in the junior/senior race. Will Rues was third (19:01.4) and Colten Maneth finished sixth (19:55.0) and Tate Roland of Ellis placed seventh (19:59.9).
