May 3, 2022, at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City Kansas having
reached the age of 66 years. Mom spent her childhood years on her
parent’s farm in rural Scott County and received her education in the
Scott County Public Schools. On February 28, 1983, she was married to
our dad, Dennis Koehn. She, together with her son Ryan, made their home
with Dad in Ingalls Kansas. Later, four sons and one daughter were born
into this union. Dad and Mom were baptized into the Church of God in
Christ, Mennonite at Cimarron Kansas by Minister Vernon Giesbrecht on
April 10, 1983.
Their early years were spent in Ingalls, then they moved to Cimarron and
lived in Grandpa Curtis’ house. Dad was a custom hay operator, and mom
helped where she could. They lived at Cimarron about 5 years and then
they bought land at Lakin, Kansas and moved there in 1992 to begin a
longtime dream of farming. Many happy memories were created there in the
“home on the hill.” As the children grew older, Mom worked as a
receptionist at High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin. She was very
much a people person, and people loved her. She had a tremendous sense
of humor and loved to laugh with her friends. In later years, Mom’s
health declined, and she became housebound, but even under those
circumstances it was impressive to us how she was always upbeat and
positive when we would stop in to see her. We trust her into the
everlasting hands of a just God.
Survivors include 6 children: Ryan and Linda Beeson, Louise Texas, Jesse
and Suzann Koehn, Lakin Kansas, Katie and Amber Sechrist, Katy Texas,

husband Dennis Koehn, Lakin Kansas, 10 grandchildren; 3 siblings:
Jacque and Ed Jantzen, Cimarron Kansas, David Beeson, Scott City Kansas,
and Jamie Beeson, Scott City Kansas. She was preceded in death by her
parents, one sister, and one brother.
