Kyle Dean Tammen, 53, Rush Center, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home.

Kyle was born March 19, 1969, in Larned, Kansas, the son of Dale and Sandy (Klaus) Tammen.  He was a lifelong resident of Rush County.  A 1987 graduate of La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, he was a farmer and rancher.

He was a volunteer firefighter for Rush County Fire District #3, and a City Council member, both of Rush Center, Kansas.  He was a past member of the Fort Hays Shrine Club, Hays, Kansas, the ISIS Shrine, Salina, Kansas,, and the Walnut City Masonic Lodge #215, Rush Center, Kansas.

Kyle enjoyed dirt track racing, whether he was driving his car, or watching.

Survivors include:  his daughter, Courtney Carlino (Daniel), La Crosse, Kansas; his parents, Dale and Sandy Tammen, Rush Center, Kansas; one brother, Kent Tammen (Mary Jo), Hays, Kansas; one sister, Kayla Hardwick (Daryl), Hays, Kansas; five nieces and nephews, Ashley Perez, Tyler Hardwick, Samantha Hardwick, Austin Tammen, and Brandon Hardwick; and three great nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.  

Church visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2022, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:20 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, Albert, Kansas.

Funeral service will be Monday, August 8, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, Albert, Kansas, with Pastor Wayne Baldyga officiating.  Interment will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Albert, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to Rush County Fire District #3, Rush Center, Kansas.
