Alice Edna (Herl) Kreutzer, age 98 a former Hays, Kansas resident passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at her home in Lawrence, Kansas.

She was born January 18, 1928, to Jerome and Philomena (Pfannenstiel) Herl.  She married Nicholas Fidelis Kreutzer on June 22, 1949, at Victoria, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on January 7, 2006.    

Alice was the Property Manager for the Epworth Village Apartments in Hays, Kansas for over 20 years. Prior to that she worked for RN Butcher Accounting and Taxes, and Travenol Labs.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays, and devoted to her faith.  She enjoyed Bingo, crocheting, cooking, baking, domino’s and coloring drawing puzzles. 

Alice is survived by her son, Allen  Kreutzer and wife, Debbie, Lawrence, KS; her grandchildren, Teresa Deering and Jeremy, Overland Park, KS; Michelle Coffey and Jess, Lawrence, KS; Michael Kreutzer and Brittanny, Lenexa, Ks; her great grandchildren, AlyssaDeering; Gianna Deering; Lucia Deering; Genevieve Coffey; Tye`jae Coffey; Madison Kreutzer;Hudson Kreutzer; her foster great grandchild; her brother-in-law, Frank Kreutzer and wife, Vivian, Hays, KS; and her sister-in-laws, Linda Kreutzer, Kansas City, MO and Anita Kreutzer, Denver, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Philomina Herl; her husband, Nicholas F. Kreutzer; her brothers, Celestine Herl; Edwin Herl; Alvin Herl, Ralph Herl; her sisters, Irene VonFeldt; Regina Leiker; Armella Wittman; Leona Geist; and Marietta Herl.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 20, 2026, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 18th & Vine, Hays, Kansas with Celebrant, Father Nick Parker.

Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hays, Kansas.

Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Friday, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  A Vigil Service and Rosary will be at 6:30 P.M. Thursday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests Memorials to: Endowment Foundation of Thomas More Prep-Marian, Inc. or Masses in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays , 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601
