"I see myself as a Brave."

Despite not taking an initial visit to Ottawa University, that is exactly where Hays High senior Will Linenberger ended up. He made his commitment to Ottawa Braves football official on Friday morning.

The 6'0 270 pound offensive lineman was the left guard this past season for the Hays High Indians. An offense that rushed for 2,051 yards over ten games during a 7-3 season.

A four year member of the football team, Linenberger saw four Western Athletic Conference titles.

Coach Tony Crough said of the abilities Linenberger possesses, one of the best is to be a great person off the field, but then flip a switch to be the aggressive player he needs to be in order to succeed.

Linenberger started at left tackle his junior season when the Indians rushed for 3,493 yards on a 10-2 season. A year that saw Hays High set the school record for single season wins and make the sub-state championship game.

Crough said this is the first player that has signed to play college football as an offensive lineman in his time as head coach of the Indians.
