2 from Ellis County to represent area with Kansas State Association of Fire Chiefs

Two Ellis County firefighters have been named as leaders for the Kansas State Association of Fire Chiefs for the upcoming year.

The Kansas State Association of Fire Chiefs had its annual conference Nov. 2-4 in Manhattan, Kan.

Elected as officers were President Chad Russell, Andover Fire-Rescue and Vice President Darin Myers, Ellis County Fire Department.

Rusty Lindsay, Ellis County Fire Company 5, was named as a new district representative.

Tim Smith, with the Tonganoxie Township Fire Department, will serve as the past-president. Others appointed as new district representatives were Lester Kaiser Marion County Fire District 5; and Rick Wesley, Barber County Fire Department.

The remaining slate of officers were re-appointed.
