A Hays man was sentenced to more than seven and a half years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty earlier this year to a pair of child sex crimes.
Christopher Leroy Boese, 20, was sentenced to 94 months or seven years and 10 months in prison for criminal sodomy and electronic solicitation of a minor in Ellis County District Court.
Boese was also originally charged with rape but that charge was dropped as a result of the plea agreement reached in March.
Boese, according to court documents, was accused of having sex with a 14-year-old on Dec. 29, 2019. He used Snapchat to message and set up the encounter with the girl he believed to be 15, documents said.

Once he is released from prison, Boese will be required to register as a sex offender for life and will be subject to post-release supervision, formerly parole, for life.
