The Kansas Department of Transportation has started work on a box culvert bridge replacement project on K-18 in Russell County.

The bridge is located approximately 1 mile east of the K-232 junction near Lucas.

Traffic through the construction zone is reduced to one lane and is being guided by a temporary stoplight. Motorists should plan for minor delays of around five minutes.

KDOT expects work to be completed in August, conditions permitting.

Klaver Construction Company Inc. of Wichita is the primary contractor with a total contract cost of approximately $1.7 million.
