Gene Wesley Preston

Gene Wesley Preston, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas. He was born on May 2, 1937, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Glen Wesley and Gladys Irene Bonner Preston. Gene was a resident of Tribune since 1966, having moved from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to engage in ranching and operating feedlots.

On December 16, 1959, Gene married Geraldine Royce Oliver in Denver, Colorado. She survives.

Survivors include, his wife, Geraldine Preston of Tribune, Kansas, four daughters; Dee Anna & Brad Schneider of Tribune, Kansas, Synthia Preston of Garden City, Kansas, Sabra & David Dickey of Sidney, Nebraska, Pamela & Brian Schneider of Tribune, Kansas, one son, Gene Preston II of Tribune, Kansas, two sisters; Joyce Waldron of Brandon, Florida, Patty Leary of Topeka, Kansas, two brothers; Jerry Preston of Topeka, Kansas, Paul Preston of Alma, Kansas, twelve grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roy Preston, two sisters; Glenda Rudisill, Rochelle Moreland, and one granddaughter.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. (MST) at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas with pastor Jerri Farmer-Smith presiding.

Burial will be in the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.

Memorials may be written to the Greeley County 4-H in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (MST) Monday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. (MST) Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
