Lindola (Schuman, Baker) Merriman, 81, of Oakley, KS died May 2, 2021.
She was born to John D. and Theodora E. (Vawter) Schuman on January 21,
1940 in Oakley, KS.
She attended school in Oakley, graduating in 1958, then studied at
Manhattan (Bible) Christian College for 2 years. Lindola married Francis
Baker in 1960 and had a daughter, Melissa Lynne Baker, in 1963. Lindola
and Melissa returned to Oakley in 1973, where she worked at various
jobs. On December 28, 1983, she married Preston Merriman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Baker, of Beattie, KS; 2
sisters, Janet (Paul) Hutchins, of Anderson, MO and Donna (Jack) Hall,
of Raton, NM; 2 nieces, 5 nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews
and cousins.
By her wishes there will be no funeral service. A graveside service will
take place at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Oakley City
Cemetery. Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley, is handling the arrangements. For
