The Fort Hays State baseball team returns to Larks Park for another three-game conference series this weekend (March 19-20) when the Tigers host the Hillcats of Rogers State. The teams will open the weekend with a single game beginning at 2 p.m. Friday before wrapping things up with a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon. This is the first-ever meeting between the Tigers and Hillcats.

Fan attendance is permitted inside Larks Park, with fans asked to maintain social distance from other fan groups and wear a mask at all times. Every other row is blocked off to support social distancing. Admission is free.

The Tigers (2-11, 2-7 MIAA) and Hillcats (7-6, 4-5 MIAA) are both looking to break out of three-game losing streaks, with FHSU dropping a three-game set at Central Missouri last week and Rogers State suffering a sweep at Northwest Missouri State. The Tigers are 1-2 at home this season, while the Hillcats are 2-4 away from Claremore.

Drake Angeron is batting a team-high .347 this season with 17 hits, one double and six runs. Kade Wallace leads the team with 10 runs, while Corbin Truslow and Garrett Stephens are tied for the team lead with three home runs. The Tigers have 14 home runs as a team this year, fifth-most in the MIAA. Jake Campbell leads the team with 21 strikeouts and 17.2 innings pitched while collecting both FHSU wins on the mound. Ryan Ruder has a team-best 5.25 ERA over 12.0 innings of work.

Rogers State has the second-lowest slugging percentage in the MIAA, coming into the weekend with a team rate of .373 percent. The Hillcats have been credited with 18 sacrifice bunts on the year, the most in the league. Kyle Simms leads the team with a league-high .500 batting average, collecting 10 hits in 20 at bats.
