Priscella Kate Jacobs, 84, passed away on January 19, 2022, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, with her family by her side. She had three brothers, John Arthur, James Robert and William Peter Rixon. Priscella grew up on the family farm and spent much of her time raising and tending to hundreds of chickens that provided many fried chicken dinners. She graduated from McCracken High School in 1955 and attended two years of college at Fort Hays Kansas State College, Hays, Kansas. On November 25, 1958, Priscella married Charles “Charlie” LeRoy Jacobs at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McCracken. She worked at the Lacrosse Furniture Factory, La Crosse, Kansas, in the sewing department, before fulfilling her love of cooking by working as a school cook, alongside her two sister-in-laws and niece, with USD 395 school district for several years. In addition, she and Charlie purchased Charlie’s Service in McCracken, where their son, Mitchell, was an integral part of the family business. For over forty years, up until her death, Priscella worked at the station, keeping the business’s financial books, pumping gas, and visiting with the numerous customers and dear friends that came through the door.

Priscella loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent numerous years camping, fishing and joining in on family vacations with her “Granny’s Pantry” in hand. Priscella enjoyed cooking with, and for them. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. Priscella was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McCracken.
