Hays Pastor Dana Spivy Glover believes that the current landscape of American politics has created a complex road for Christians to navigate. Longtime friends are sometimes finding it difficult to maintain that friendship when they discover they belong to different political parties.
For that reason, she will be leading small study groups on “Faith and Politics” on two different nights this fall.
Both groups will meet at Hays Christian Church, 1318 E. 22nd, where she is the pastor.

Individuals may sign up either for the 6:30 p.m. Sunday study, beginning Oct. 11, or the 6:30 p.m. Wednesday study, beginning Oct. 14. Each group will meet once a week for five weeks. There is no cost to attend.
“This series will include teaching and discussion about living a faithful Christian life within the complicated political culture of American society,” Glover said. She plans to “draw content from several books and online sources.”
Glover said, “The landscape of American politics creates a complex road for Christians to navigate. We want to create opportunities to ask difficult questions about being good citizens as faithful followers of Jesus Christ. We believe there is a way forward, across the political spectrum, that is grounded in compassion and wisdom.
“Our hope for those who attend the ‘Faith and Politics’ series is that each person will learn something new about what it means to love one another, in Christ, while also recognizing our differences as strengths in diversity instead of barriers to relationship and service.”
