Alwana Crutcher

Alwana Crutcher, 98, passed away November 2, 2021, in Hoisington.  She was born November 27, 1922, in Newcastle, Texas, to Robert and Winnie (Blanton) Weatherbee.  Alwana married William Crutcher July 20, 1941, in Graham, Texas.  He died Sept. 24, 1988.

Alwana, a resident of Hoisington since 1965, was a homemaker and devoted wife, daughter and grandmother.  She was a life member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, Post 7428, Hoisington, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and was a voracious reader.

Survivors include one son, Bill Crutcher of Hoisington; two daughters, Dianne Scott and Wynee Weatherbee of Hoisington, and Donita Crutcher of Hoisington; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Crutcher; son, Robert Crutcher; two sisters, Anna Mae Boren and Beulah J. Webb; and two grandsons, Brian Scott and Jordan Boor.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with Rhonda Templing, SAM, presiding. Interment will follow at Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington.  Visitation will be from noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.  Memorials have been designated to the Hoisington Public Library, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS  67544.
