Fort Hays State Men's Basketball heads back on the road to Missouri this week for a pair of contests. First stop for the Tigers on Thursday night (Jan. 7) is Central Missouri in Warrensburg for a 7:30 pm tipoff, which follows the women's game at 5:30 pm. The Tigers enter at 3-4, while the Mules are 1-6.

• The UCM Multipurpose Building is limited to 25% capacity. Fans are strongly encourage to purchase their tickets in advance at the link above.
• Face masks are required at all times while on the UCM campus. 
• Fans are strongly encouraged to socially distance themselves when seated and only sit with the group they entered the facility with.
• Restrooms and east-end concessions will be open, but fans are asked not to congregate in hallways or the lobby. 
• There will be no reserved seating for visiting fans behind the visiting bench. 

The Tigers are coming off an 84-76 loss at No. 22 ranked Missouri Western this past Saturday. The eight-point gap was the largest for a game played by the Tigers so far this year, playing all opponents to a margin of less than 10 points so far. In Fort Hays State's three wins this year, FHSU has outscored their opponents by an average of six points, while in the four losses, they are being outscored by just an average of four points. FHSU is averaging 77.1 points per game, while allowing 76.9 per game. FHSU is 1-2 in road games so far this season.

This will be Central Missouri's third home game of the season after playing five of its first seven on the road. All seven of their games have been against the teams that make up the top-7 of the MIAA standings so far. This is also UCM's first game since the holiday break with their last result being a 73-64 loss at Emporia State on December 19. Cameron Hunter leads the Mule scoring effort so far at 17.3 points per game, while adding a team-best 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. UCM has three other players averaging double figures in scoring.

Jared Vitztum shares the national lead in double-doubles with five so far this year in seven games, joining Dylan Peeters of Truman (Mo.). He averages 19.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He's just one rebound shy of leading the MIAA in rebounding and ranks fifth in the conference in scoring. Quinten RockKaleb Hammeke, and Alvin Thompson join Vitztum as Tiger players averaging double figures in scoring.

Fort Hays State won its only meeting with Central Missouri last season, claiming a 65-50 decision in Warrensburg. The 15-point win was the largest-ever for the in Warrensburg, where they are 3-8 throughout history. The teams have split their last four meetings overall. This will be the fourth straight game between the schools in Warrensburg as the Tigers have not played the Mules in Hays since the 2016-17 season, but they are scheduled to meet in Hays later this season on February 20.
