McPHERSON - The Hays High boys and girls track and field teams both finished second at the McPherson Invitational Thursday. Due to heavy rains on Wednesday, the only field event was the high jump due to wet grounds. HHS had three first place finishes. Chason Vanderwege won the boys high jump, the boys won the 4x100 relay and the girls won the 4x800 relay.
McPherson won both the boys and girls team titles. The Bullpups girls scored 94 points with HHS a distant second with 54. The MHS boys scored 92 points with HHS 11 behind with 82.
