🏀 FHSU's Hammeke named to NABC All-District team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kaleb Hammeke of Fort Hays State was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District Team for the second-straight year in the Central Region. He was a repeat selection on the second team. Hammeke helped the Tigers to their 14th NCAA Tournament appearance and 23-8 overall record in 2023-24.

This is the second all-region award for Hammeke this season after also being named to the D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team. It was his first career regional honor from the D2CCA.Hammeke finished the season averaging 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He scored in double figures 25 times and dished out three or more assists in games 26 times. Hammeke ranks fifth all-time in scoring at FHSU with 1,559 points and fourth all-time in assists with 441.

Hammeke is a four-time All-MIAA selection overall, receiving first-team honors each of the last two seasons. In his first year on the court at FHSU, he was the MIAA Freshman of the Year.

Hammeke was one of 10 players selected to the NABC All-District Team for the Central Region. He is one of four players to earn the honor from the MIAA, joining Wes Dreamer of Northwest Missouri State, Jaden Wells of Central Oklahoma, and Alijah Comithier of Emporia State. The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference had five selections on the team and the Great American Conference had one.
