
William “Bill” Francis Harmon, Sr., 81, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the Rooks County Hospital in Plainville.
He was born on January 27, 1945, in Oberlin, Kansas, to Paul Meredith and Frances Lenore (Case) Harmon. Bill grew up in Oberlin and graduated from Oberlin High School in 1965. He later continued his education, earning an associate’s degree. On February 11, 1968, he married Pamela Sue Dennis in Oberlin.
Bill proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Red Line Cruisers and the Hays Ham Radio Club. In his free time, Bill enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time on his ham radio. He found great satisfaction in working with his hands, being outdoors, and connecting with others through his hobbies.
Survivors include his wife, Pam; children, Terri (Dante) Nickel, Bill (Lindley) Harmon and Trevor (Beth) Harmon; seven grandchildren, Will Harmon, Jordyn (Cody) Swanson, Brittney (Kagen Fell) Harmon, Kasey Nickel, Chloe (Daniel) Harmon, Riley Nickel, Toby Harmon; and three great-grandchildren, Maddox Swanson, Ronan Swanson, Zoey Bowman
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Frances Harmon; sister, Paula Brunson; and brothers-in-law, Jim Hammerschmidt and Larren Dennis.
A Celebration of Life Come-and-Go Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Toadstool 30 in the Old Marina at Webster Lake. Family and friends are invited to stop by, share memories, and celebrate a life well lived. Food and refreshments will be provided.
