HAYS - The No. 8 Fort Hays State women's basketball team led for all but 24 seconds Thursday, cruising past Lincoln, 74-43. The Tigers (17-2, 17-2 MIAA) remain tied for the MIAA lead with three regular seasons games to play.

No. 16 Central Missouri held off No. 12 Nebraska-Kearney 70-66 Thursday in Kearney setting a battle for first place between the Tigers and Jennies Saturday inside Gross Memorial Coliseum at 2 p.m.

The Tigers outscored Lincoln 23-4 in the second quarter to build a 26 point halftime lead and led by as many as 37 in the third quarter.

FHSU (17-2, 17-2 MIAA) never trailed, using an early 9-0 run to build an 11-2 lead. The closest the Blue Tigers (1-18, 1-18 MIAA) would get the rest of the way was five points. 

Jaden Hobbs and Whitney Randall both scored a game-high 16 points. Hobbs added five assists, three steals and two blocks. Randall had four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.

Olivia Hollenbeck scored 11 points and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds along with four blocks. Katie Wagner added eight points and six rebounds.

After being recognized before the game on Senior Night, Madison Mittie recorded career highs with four assists and four steals while adding four rebounds.
