NEW ORLEANS - The Fort Hays State men's track and field team is ranked 15th in the first USTFCCCA NCAA Division II rating index, released Tuesday (Jan. 30) by the coaches association.
The Tigers have four student-athletes that rank in the top 10 nationally, including high jumper Dayton Williams (6-11.5 feet), pole vaulter Jacob Clark (16-8.75 feet) and multi-event runner Nolan Churchman (5326 points in heptathlon). Ethan Lang joined the top 10 performance list with a provisional mark last week for finishing the 800m in a converted time of 1:49.40.
The Tiger men currently rank fifth in the central region and listed as the fourth best team in the MIAA. Event squad rankings started up this week with conference rankings starting the next week.
Next up for the Tiger track and field teams is a trip to Topeka, Kan. for the Washburn Open and Multis this weekend (Feb. 2-3).
