Smith Center resident Kathy J. Willis passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, peacefully at her home.  She was 68.

Kathy was born September 20, 1952, in Alma, NE the daughter of Milo and Norma Jean (Stevens) Gitchel.

She met and married Dennis L. Willis on November 11, 1972, at the Englewood Wesleyan Church in Phillips County, KS. 

Kathy loved to keep busy with handiwork.  She loved sewing, crocheting, and creating dream catchers.  All of which were shared with family and friends.  She also liked to take time during her day to sit and watch the birds and squirrels in the yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters Violet Sue and Pearl Mae; and brothers, Allan and Elbert Lee Gitchel.

Survivors include her husband Dennis L. of the home; daughters Amber Joy Clark of Walla Walla, WA and Dawn Marie Osbern of MN; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother Delbert Gitchel of Wilcox, NE; and two sisters Eileen Branstetter of Salina, KS and Lois Haas of Phillipsburg, KS.

Cremation was planned.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg, KS.  The services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook Page.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, for visitation.
