COLORADO SPRINGS – Dylan Dreiling had three hits and drove in five runs and two pitchers combined on a nine-hit shutout as the Hays Larks defeated the Colorado Springs Outlaws 11-0 by run-rule in seven innings Monday afternoon at Mountain Lion Park.
Hunter Marshall (2-0) scattered seven hits with eight strikeouts and no walks and picked up the win. Preston Tabor allowed two hits while striking out three with no walks over the final two innings.
Dreiling gave the Larks (19-6, 13-3 RMBL) all of the offense they needed with a two-run single in the first. After a Hunter Rosson homer to leadoff the fifth, Dreiling added an RBI single to push the lead to 5-0. He closed out the scoring with a two-run double in the sixth.
Tyler LaRue added three hits and Rosson homered and doubled.
The Larks finished the Colorado portion of their road-trip 3-1. They are in Dodge City Wednesday before turning home Friday to host the Outlaws.
