You will not want to miss this year's celebration, which will be four days of fun, food and great music! There will be something for everyone!
The Carnival is BACK and will be there all weekend long, 6-10 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and on Monday enjoy the rides and games from noon to 5 p.m. and to 10 p.m. You will also find food concessions.
On Friday, start the weekend right with a community BBQ and beer garden sponsored by Superior Essex at Kaiser's Lot North of Hoisington High School's Stadium. This event could also be called a Big Tailgate Party ahead of the Cardinal's first home football game.
Saturday is a day full of activities: Kid Stop at Hoisington Activity Center with different kids' games, touch-a-truck, pedal pull and crafts from 9 a.m.-noon. Visit the Hoisington Market Square where you will find vendors, live music, carnival games, face painting and more.
Of course, no celebration would be complete without a cornhole tournament. Shine up your ride and Drag Main from 6 to 8 p.m. before the free concert on main street at 8 p.m. with Jadyence Jean. The Labor Day fireworks display will be at 9:30 p.m. from Bicentennial Park.
Don't worry, the fun is just getting started! Events for Sunday include the demolition derby, a celebration tradition, at 1 p.m. at Bicentennial Park. Put your dancing shoes on and come out to the street dance on Sunday evening from 8 p.m. to midnight. Performing will be Makayla Brownlee, an "American Idol" contestant in 2019, followed by Crazy Horse 2.0. A beer garden will be hosted by the Community Women's Club.
Monday morning is the 130th-annual Labor Day Parade, with the kid's parade leading off at 10:10 a.m. After the parade, stick around for more fun on Main Street, carnival rides and games, food, car show and fun while the Antique Tractor Pull is conducted at the Hoisington Activity Center at noon.
