OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Fort Hays State Men's Soccer fell by s score of 3-1 to No. 10 ranked Maryville University on Thursday (Sept. 7). The match was held at a neutral site, the Scheels Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kan.
The Saints scored about 11 minutes into the match and then added on to their lead with goals in the 47th and 69th minutes during the second half. The Tigers picked up their lone tally of the match in the 76th minute when a handball in the box gave Blake Arndt the opportunity to score a penalty kick goal. Arndt now has a team-leading three goals on the season.
The Tigers make another trip to Kansas City on Sunday (Sept. 10) when they play at Rockhurst University. Match time is set for 3 p.m. The Hawks will enter the match at 1-1-0 on the season, while the Tigers are now 1-2-0.
