Karen S. (Sander) Barnes, age 67, of Humble, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024. She was born July 21, 1956, in Hays, Kansas to John J. and Darlene (Jacobs) Sander.
Karen was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and teacher. Her passion for education touched countless lives and she will be remembered for her kindness, laughter and joy.
Survivors include her husband, Aric Barnes, of Humble, TX; her daughter, Kaitlin Barnes (Koji Takagi), of Baltimore, MD; her son, A.J. Barnes of Houston, TX; her twin grandsons, Benjamin and Henry Barnes Takagi, of Baltimore, MD; her brothers, Bryan Sander (Dee), of British Columbia, Canada; John Sander Jr. (Rachel), of Olathe, KS; her sisters, Jo Oliver (Russ), of Wichita, KS; Dianne Dye (Phil), of Shawnee, KS; and Eileen Moore (Chris), of Dallas, TX.
A remembrance service will be held at 12:00 P.M Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Rosewood Funeral Home, 2602 S. Houston Ave, Humble, TX.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the funeral home.
