
Patricia Ann Cozad, 74, of Oberlin, KS passed away on September 21,
2021, in Cambridge, NE. She was born on March 19, 1947, in Norton, KS
to Chester and Josephine (Heisz) Johnson.
Patricia grew up on a farm southwest of Lenora in Graham County and
graduated from Lenora High School in 1964. After high school, she
attended Brown Mackie Community College in Salina, KS where she received
her Associates degree in Business. She later came back to Oberlin and
worked at the Oberlin Herald for 30 years as an office manager. Pat
also helped many people as a Notary Public. In her spare time she loved
to quilt, sew, spend time in her garden and woodworking; she liked to
go to and put on yardsales. She also enjoyed attending church on
Sundays.
She was an active volunteer in the community and was known for her
warm smile, friendly nature and caring personality. Most of all, Pat
was a very devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her time with
her family.
Pat is survived by sons: Brad (Brenda) Burmaster of Oberlin, KS,
Jeff (Andrea) Burmaster of Oberlin, KS; daughter, Jackie Mayberry of
Beaver City, NE; grandchildren: Lakin Stanfield, Chyanne May, Zach Lahe,
Aubrey Burmaster, John Burmaster, Kira Burmaster; 6 great
grandchildren; brother, Harold (Cork) Johnson of Lenora, KS; sisters:
Esther Headley of Eugene, OR and Lela Smith of Plattsmouth, NE, Glenda
Stephen of Virginia Beach, VA, and many nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wilber Johnson and sister,
Alice Griffin.
