HOXIE - TMP-Marian went 1-1 in opening round of the Mid-Continent League Tournament.
The Monarchs lost to the host Indians (16-25, 16-25) then beat Phillipsburg (25-17, 25-18).
The Monarchs are now 15-17. The MCL Tournament continues Saturday.
